The Morning Rise... Aahhh

Another wonderful morning on the beach. There are no words for the peaceful feeling of being on the beach, all alone, watching the day begin. Energizing, invigorating and all the cliche words apply. The possibilities of the day, the truth in what matters, the folly of the human mind, the craziness of it all... it all leads to discovery of what's in your core.

All of it inspired just by nature doing its thing - what it's done every day for thousands of years.

The morning brings peace by nature. And then we wake up and create chaos.

When you come to the beach, try a sunrise. Wake up, forget about everything and just take it all in. Watch the morning rise and let your mind go. Fall back to sleep with the sound of the ocean and the cool breeze of the salt air. Cleanse the soul. Cocktails, miniature golf, Boardwalk, and sun worship are for later. Take in an Atlantic Ocean sunrise and it may be the highlight of your trip. You can drink a beer anywhere. You only get an Ocean City sunrise in one place... Just Like The Good Ol' Days

Looks like summer officially started this Memorial Day weekeend, just like it always used to. It's been a while since we've seen this kind of vibe and energy in Ocean City on a Memorial Day weekend.

After the long cold winter that was full of bad news, it's time to shake it off and live a little.

Summer's here and don't delay -- Rooooad Triiip. Round 'em up and let's go. The winter may have been long, but one thing's for sure... the summer will fly by. Spend as much time on the beach as you can. Why not? We're close to home, and you know we are damn close to perfect.

Don't be a slacker; leave the excuses alone. Rooms are available at all price points and there's great value on things to do all over town.

Don't be left out. Everyone else is having fun - shouldn't you? If you say, "No" then we don't want you anyway.

And hey, don't be a knucklehead... on this Memorial Day, let's remember those that died for us. They died proud so that we could live free. Let's remember that we are the good guys; that our country, sovereignty and freedom is worth fighting for.

Morning Rise

If I said it's been raining everyday for a week, would you believe me? Didn't think so. Ok, so I am back and doing this everyday hasn't worked out as planned but I'll get there.

I tell ya, there's nothing better. The first 10 minutes really, really suck but then I remember that I am going to the beach. How bad can it be? So, no more complaining.

Man, was it perfect today. This is why Ocean City is called God's Country...

Ok, so it turns out that I am the blogger that I warn about. Real life with live, red-blooded human interaction takes over and all this electronic stuff gets pushed to the side. Call me crazy, but I still like a handshake more than keystrokes.

Now, on to this blog. New format - something much easier for this knucklehead to manage. I live about a half mile from the sandy shoreline. My wife made me watch the movie "Marley and Me" this past weekend and I will never be the same again. First time I cried in a movie since Old Yeller.

So, I will run my dog, Willie, to the beach everyday and take a picture of the sunrise. I will throw my dog the ball (yes raquetballs do bounce on the sand) and just reflect on things. I will then run back to my house and post the pic and my thought of the day. I will even introduce you to Willie, the crazy hound. No pooping on the dog beach.

Oh, and I think I will call out sick on rainy days.

Let's see if I can handle this idea. Sunrises at 5:50 suck and my legs don't want to move very fast then but at least they move, right? Thank God for that.
